STUDENT COMPETITION TO RAISE AWARENSESS OF ENERGY CURING

Bethesda, MD (March 22, 2010) TAGA AND RadTech are partnering to present a student poster competition to showcase energy cure materials and their use and benefits. Energy curing uses ultraviolet and/or electron beams to cure (dry) inks and coatings, and is generally considered more energy efficient, and environmentally responsible compared with traditional technologies. “Energy curing can serve as a key element to a printer’s sustainability efforts, says Jo Grosemans,” of Cytec. "Our goal is to educate students about these benefits, as well as the fact that the process enables differentiation and new applications in the printing and packaging industry."

TAGA and RadTech are offering the competition winner a cash award plus an expenses paid trip to the RadTech Conference in Baltimore, MD, May 24-26 (www.radtech2010.com). “TAGA is always interested in technology innovations and fresh ideas and new insights,” says Don Duncan, Wikoff Color Corp. and TAGA Board member. “I see the potential for good synergy between TAGA and RadTech to develop this and other educational outreach opportunities."
